Ogunquit is full of places we love! Spend a day at the beach, take the trolley to get to Perkins Cove to take in the bright sights of charming boats floating through pristine waters, grab a bite at the many restaurants that line the Village, and take part in many activities! The July 4th fireworks show is one of the best in New England. In the spring and fall the town is more leisurely. Various events take place from spring blooms and changing foliage during fall that transform the landscape. Ogunquit Octoberfest or Christmas by the Sea festivals are some of the most popular events not to be missed! Ogunquit Village

Ogunquit translates to ‘a beautiful place by the sea’ and it truly is an amazing and unique coastal beach town. Twenty Shore is in the center of town, a perfectly situated place to stay to take in all the sights and sounds! Located just out the front door are great shopping boutiques and gift shops, casual cafes and sophisticated dining options, which are sure to entice any palette. Enjoy fresh local seafood, infamous lobster rolls (pronounced ‘lobsta’ by the locals), discover the many candy, ice cream shops and other eateries. Take in a show at the famous Ogunquit Playhoust, and discover the many other museum and art galleries. The town even has its own mini movie theatre!

Get outside and enjoy the sun - by walking, renting a bicycle, or by scooter. Surf and SUP boards, beach chairs and umbrellas can all easily be rented in town as well. Ogunquit is a perfect place for a romantic retreat, a family excursion with the kids, an outdoor adventure or to relax and unwind.

Ogunquit Beach

A five-minute walk from Twenty Shore, Ogunquit Beach is a magnificent three and a half mile expanse of clean, powdery white sand beaches. The unique tides and river inlet create warm pools at low tide, where children enjoy playing. The main beach creates gentle rolling waves great for surfing, paddle boarding and swimming. It’s not uncommon to find visitors and residents alike standing awestruck on this immaculate stretch of silky sand, marveling at its beauty.

The Marginal Way

A local favorite, the now famous walking path spans one and a quarter mile along the rocky coastline from Ogunquit Village to Perkins Cove. This delightful path meanders by beautiful flowers, tangled bayberry and bittersweet bushes, gnarled shrubs of fragrant pink & white-sea roses, shaded alcoves formed by wind twisted trees jutting out onto high granite outcroppings. Take your camera for some amazing views of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. The bends and inclines along the walk are rather gentle, if you need to rest there are memorial benches dotting the path to sit and rest. Many will relax, contemplate, paint or photograph the panorama of sea, surf and sky that unfolds daily amid the protest of the rolling ocean. The entrance to the Marginal Way path is two hundred yards up Shore Road on the opposite side of the street from Twenty Shore.

Perkins Cove

Located at the opposite end of Shore Road, guests of Twenty Shore can get to the cove by trolley (there is a trolley stop in the center of town), a leisurely walk along the sidewalk of Shore Road or by way of the Marginal Way path. Visitors to Perkins Cove enjoy the myriad of art galleries, fine specialty shops and boutiques and the array of excellent restaurants within sight and sound of the sea. Perhaps the best-known feature of Perkins Cove is the unique drawbridge spanning the entry to one of the loveliest small harbors on the Maine coast.
